75th Anniversary Scholarship Recipient: Leanna Jantzi

As part of the celebration of ACRL’s 75th Anniversary, we’ve asked the ACRL 75th Anniversary scholarship recipients to describe the impact of attending the ACRL 2015 Conference on their professional life and/or their library.

Jantzi, LeannaLeanna Jantzi is the electronic resources and copyright librarian and liaison to business, legal studies, communication, and public administration at Capilano University in Vancouver, British Columbia.

“Attending the 2015 ACRL Conference made a difference in my professional life and at my library in a number of ways. I learned that many issues that I was facing in my work (assessment, wrangling e-resources, communicating with faculty) are common – I wasn’t alone! I left with suggestions on how to improve workflows and communication and, most important, with the knowledge that you can’t fix everything right away, but that there’s a wide network of knowledgeable professionals who are eager to help.

My network also expanded greatly – It was a wonderful opportunity to be able to meet information professionals from outside Canada and from a variety of institutions.

Many thanks again to the conference organizers, presenters and scholarship committee for giving me such a great experience.”
