75th Anniversary Scholarship Recipient: Claudia Peterson
As part of the celebration of ACRL’s 75th Anniversary, we’ve asked the ACRL 75th Anniversary scholarship recipients to describe the impact of attending the ACRL 2015 Conference on their professional life and/or their library.
Claudia Peterson is the Reference and Instruction Librarian for Languages and Cultures at Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota.
“I feel very fortunate as a young professional to have been able to have a scholarship to attend ACRL Portland. Receiving an ACRL scholarship allowed me the opportunity to foster new professional relationships through the various networking opportunities offered throughout the conference. The sessions were extremely insightful, and provided a lot of new ideas in the practice of information literacy. I hope to apply what I learned to my instruction this coming school year. I found the keynote speakers very inspirational, and am constantly reminded of why I entered this profession in the first place. Thank you ACRL, for being a great organization who cares about its members so much!!”
