75th Anniversary Scholarship Recipient: Jillian A. Sparks
As part of the celebration of ACRL’s 75th Anniversary, we’ve asked the ACRL 75th Anniversary scholarship recipients to describe the impact of attending the ACRL 2015 Conference on their professional life and/or their library.
Jillian A. Sparks is the Robert A. Olson Graduate Research Assistant in the Special Collections and University Archives at the University of Iowa in Iowa City.
“ACRL was a wonderful conference experience! I was interested in attending ACRL because I would like to pursue a career as a special collections librarian with an emphasis on instruction. ACRL provided the perfect opportunity to more fully understand information literacy goals and the workshop I attended helped to me start thinking about how I can adapt assessment techniques to special collections courses. I also participated in the buddy program. My buddy was so kind and welcoming and helped me navigate the ins and outs of the conference. Thank you again for the opportunity!”
