75th Anniversary Scholarship Recipient: Junior Tidal
As part of the celebration of ACRL’s 75th Anniversary, we’ve asked the ACRL 75th Anniversary scholarship recipients to describe the impact of attending the ACRL 2015 Conference on their professional life and/or their library.
Junior Tidal is Associate Professor and Web Services and Multimedia Librarian at the New York City College of Technology, CUNY in Brooklyn, New York.
“I am very grateful for my scholarship to the ACRL Conference in 2015 in Portland, Oregon. I know that without this scholarship, I would not be able to attend the conference. Like many higher education institutions, funding has been scarce for faculty librarians at my institution. However, with this scholarship, not only was I able to attend and present at ACRL 2015, I was able to network with other librarians far and wide, attend keynotes of renown speakers, and hear about the wonderful projects that other libraries have been working on. This has given me new ideas on solving collectively problems that other libraries face, such as patron engagement, issues surrounding physical and virtual usability, and most importantly, how best we can serve special and diverse populations.”
