We’ve asked the ACRL 2017 Conference scholarship recipients to describe the impact of attending the ACRL 2017 Conference on their professional life and/or their library.

AiJewel BallardAiJewel Ballard is the stacks supervisor at Howard University in Washington, D.C.

“Thank you and ACRL for inviting me to an experience of a career lifetime. I was very appreciative of the conference. It was an eye-opener and I definitely learned a lot from being there. I hope I can attend more conferences hosted by ACRL because this event helped me choose a career that I finally see is fulfilling. Before the conference in Baltimore, I honestly had no idea what I saw myself doing for the next 20 years in the workforce besides administrative work. Thanks to ACRL Conference 2017, I know what I want to do and how I must go about it. I would like to become a Media Specialist Librarian for an Elementary School. Thank you all once again for the great opportunity.”
