We’ve asked the ACRL 2017 Conference scholarship recipients to describe the impact of attending the ACRL 2017 Conference on their professional life and/or their library.
Anna Sandelli is the student success librarian for undergraduate user experience at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in Knoxville, TN.
“Several months after starting my first professional librarian position, I had the opportunity to attend and present at ACRL 2015, and I came away energized by the conversations and community I found there, as well as colleagues’ excitement about continuing these conversations long after the conference. Due to other travel requirements, I did not think that I would be able to attend the ACRL 2017 conference; however, receiving an Early Career Scholarship made it happen. Even more than in 2015, I found myself grateful to learn and grow alongside thoughtful and dedicated professionals who share my passion for collaborating, learning, and growing together and who use the biannual conference as a unique opportunity to do so. To me, ACRL is a source of information and, more importantly, of inspiration, and I am deeply appreciative of those who fueled my continued passion for my work with the chance to be part of such an invaluable learning opportunity.”
