We’ve asked the ACRL 2017 Conference scholarship recipients to describe the impact of attending the ACRL 2017 Conference on their professional life and/or their library.

Caitlin M. MannionCaitlin M. Mannion is a reference and subject specialist librarian at Shanghai New York University in Shanghai, China.

“The ACRL Early Career Librarian Scholarship allowed me to attend my first ACRL conference, where I presented a poster with my director. This scholarship did not just get me to the conference – it was evidence that my profession is a supportive and collaborative one. Whether it is through our deeds, donations, or the sharing of ideas, we are a community that builds each other up. Attending ACRL 2017 on this scholarship meant that there were more funds for my colleagues to attend conferences: as we always share what we have learned with the rest of our team, this is of great benefit to us all. I am so proud to be part of the ACRL community, and I look forward to supporting other librarians by donating to scholarship funds, participating on committees, and sharing ideas. Thank you!”
