We’ve asked the ACRL 2017 Conference scholarship recipients to describe the impact of attending the ACRL 2017 Conference on their professional life and/or their library.
Emily Crist is an experience design librarian at Champlain College in Burlington, VT.
“ACRL 2017 helped me connect with my profession in exciting ways. Not only was I able to spend time around peers and colleagues, but I was exposed to new areas for exploration and experimentation within the field.
The varied talks and presentations encouraged me to think about the different contexts and environments within which librarians work. I left many a session eagerly considering how the speaker’s ideas, research or practices might apply at my own institution.
ACRL left me feeling invigorated, excited and full of ideas for both immediate and future use. It was a valuable experience, and I feel deep gratitude for the support in attending. I look forward to many more ACRL conferences in the future.”
