We’ve asked the ACRL 2017 Conference scholarship recipients to describe the impact of attending the ACRL 2017 Conference on their professional life and/or their library.
Rebekah G. Walker is a digital humanities and social sciences librarian at Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY.
“Attending the 2017 ACRL Conference in Baltimore as a graduate student allowed me to glimpse how interconnected and scholarly the library community is and experience what my future role will be like. I was able to connect with people at all levels of the library profession: other graduate students, practicing librarians from all types of libraries, and conference organizers. The ACRL Conference enriched my knowledge and understanding of the broad world of library and information science through its sessions and conference events. Without the scholarship, I would not have been able to attend, so I appreciate it greatly. Thank you to ACRL for a great experience! I look forward to attending ACRL Conferences for years to come and using what I learn directly in my library.”
