We’ve asked the ACRL 2017 Conference scholarship recipients to describe the impact of attending the ACRL 2017 Conference on their professional life and/or their library.

Samuel Judson CrawfordSamuel J. Crawford is an academic librarian at Northern Marianas College in Saipan, MP.

“As an official “first-timer” at this particular gathering, I couldn’t have asked for more.  ACRL 2017 was, for me, absolutely top-notch—excellent programming (still swooning over our keynote speakers), great website + app design, and fantastic opportunities to learn, reach out, and meet professional peers from all over! As an Early-Career Librarian Scholarship recipient this year, I was honored to attend, particularly since I had to travel from such a distance (nearly 8,000 miles!), all the way from Northern Marianas College in the U.S. territory of Saipan, the largest municipality within the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI). What a worthwhile venture it was!  In every imaginable way, my experience in Baltimore was tremendous—thank you, thank you, thank you for helping to make it happen, and so successfully so…I’m already looking forward to ACRL 2019!”
