Serving as a member of an IS committee provides a wonderful opportunity to interact with your colleagues as we work together to accomplish our\u00a0<a style=\"color: #384a9d;\" title=\"mission\" href=\"http:\/\/acrl.ala.org\/IS\/about-is-2\/faq\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mission<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #303030;\">I will be making most appointments to IS committees after the February 28th, 2026 deadline, and these appointments will take effect July 1st, 2026. Committee members serve for two years with the possibility of reappointment for a second two-year term. I encourage first-time volunteers to consider serving as committee secretaries. Committee secretaries take and disseminate minutes of committee meetings and update the committee web page with content from the committee chair. Committee secretaries serve for one year, then they may be appointed to serve as full members the following year. Please keep in mind that committee members and committee secretaries must be able to participate fully in the committee&#8217;s online work.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #303030;\">To volunteer, simply complete the\u00a0<a style=\"color: #384a9d;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ala.org\/acrl\/membership\/volunteer\/volunteer\">Committee Volunteer Form<\/a> on the IS website.
