The Instruction Section is a community that seeks to help you improve your teaching and research related to information literacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is IS?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Instruction Section (IS) of ACRL enhances the ability of academic and research librarians to advance learning, teaching and research with respect to information literacy in higher education. IS is one of the 15 sections within ACRL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Do you have questions about IS and its structure, getting involved, or our resources? To learn more, watch our <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/Pw-n8JzW_2U\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/Pw-n8JzW_2U\">online orientation<\/a> to help familiarize yourself with the Instruction Section!\u00a0You can also check out recent <a href=\"https:\/\/acrl.ala.org\/IS\/about-is-2\/instruction-section-newsletters\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/acrl.ala.org\/IS\/about-is-2\/instruction-section-newsletters\/\">IS newsletters<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Join IS<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In order to join IS, you have to be a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ala.org\/membership\/joinala\">member <\/a>of both ALA and ACRL. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ala.org\/membership\/ala-personal-membership-benefits-types\">ALA membership rates<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ala.org\/acrl\/membership\/applications\">ACRL membership rates<\/a> vary as your career progresses, including student and early career options. When you pay for your ACRL membership, you can sign up for IS as one of your two free sections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Get Connected<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are a number of ways to get connected with other members of IS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>No matter where you are in your career, the <a href=\"https:\/\/acrl.ala.org\/IS\/is-committees-2\/committees-task-forces\/mentoring-program\/is-mentoring-program\/\">IS Mentoring Program<\/a> is a great way to connect with instruction colleagues.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Join the <a href=\"https:\/\/connect.ala.org\/acrl\/home\">ACRL Instruction Section Community on ALA Connect<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Explore past webinars on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/ALAACRL\">ACRL YouTube channel<\/a> and find upcoming ACRL <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ala.org\/acrl\/conferences\/elearning\/webcasts\">Live Webcasts<\/a>.
