75th Anniversary Scholarship Recipient: Lee Ann Fullington

As part of the celebration of ACRL’s 75th Anniversary, we’ve asked the ACRL 75th Anniversary scholarship recipients to describe the impact of attending the ACRL 2015 Conference on their professional life and/or their library.

Fullington, Lee AnnLee Ann Fullington is the Health and Environmental Sciences Librarian at Brooklyn College in Brooklyn, New York.

“As I am at a public institution with limited funds for professional development, receiving the ACRL Early Career Librarian scholarship enabled me to go to my first ACRL conference. The serendipitous nature of meeting people and chatting and finding out we have similar research interests, teaching philosophies, values, and even fandoms (#Critbaseball grew out of ACRL 2015!) has allowed me to grow my professional and personal network.

The librarians I met at ACRL 2015 have become important people in my life as a librarian. They are guiding me, challenging me, supporting me and helping me blossom into a wholehearted, dedicated academic librarian.  I wouldn’t have met them without the support of the ACRL scholarship and they’ve enriched my life in so many ways.

Thank you so much!”
