75th Anniversary Scholarship Recipient: Christine Iannicelli
As part of the celebration of ACRL’s 75th Anniversary, we’ve asked the ACRL 75th Anniversary scholarship recipients to describe the impact of attending the ACRL 2015 Conference on their professional life and/or their library.
Christine Iannicelli is the Reference Librarian and Director of Sponsored Research at Immaculata University in West Chester, Pennsylvania.
“Receiving the ACRL early-librarian career scholarship was very rewarding for me. While I have presented on my research and experiences at local conferences, ACRL 2015 was the first national conference that I had presented at. Having the opportunity to do so was a wonderful chance to help me advance my career, continue my education, and contribute to the growth of my profession. I would have never been able to afford traveling and registering for the ACRL conference in Portland without the scholarship that I received. Being asked to present a three-hour workshop at the conference was rewarding enough, but being given the financial support and recognition of receiving an ACRL scholarship was even more satisfying.
I learned so much from the sessions that I attended at the ACRL Conference. I also had the ability to network with numerous librarians from across the United States and made valuable contacts. My presentation was well received and my first visit to Portland was a very enjoyable experience.”
