75th Anniversary Scholarship Recipient: Kai Alexis Smith

Smith, KaiAs part of the celebration of ACRL’s 75th Anniversary, we’ve asked the ACRL 75th Anniversary scholarship recipients to describe the impact of attending the ACRL 2015 Conference on their professional life and/or their library.

Kai Alexis Smith is the Librarian-in-Residence at Notre Dame University in Notre Dame, Indiana.

“The 2015 ACRL scholarship award made a big difference for me. Just attending the conference was a wonderful opportunity. It was my first ACRL conference. The scholarship award made it possible for me to present my poster on academic residency programs. I also met incredible and friendly leaders in ACRL and was able to continue to build my network through social events. Without the scholarship award, I would not have learned how much I love ACRL and want to continue to be a part of the organization, take on more leadership roles, and attend future conferences.”
