2012 Joint Conference of Librarians of Color Proposals Due Oct. 1

The Steering Committee of the 2012 Joint Conference of Librarians of Color (JCLC) has extended the open call for program proposals for the conference scheduled for Sept. 19-23, 2012 in Kansas City.  Proposals are now due by Oct. 1, 2011.

The Joint Conference of Librarians of Color: Gathering at the Waters: Celebrating Stories and Embracing Communities is a conference for everyone and brings together a diverse group of librarians, library staff, library supporters and community participants to explore issues of diversity in libraries and how they affect the ethnic communities libraries serve.  JCLC deepens connections across constituencies, creates spaces for dialogue on issues of diversity and encourages the transformation of libraries into more democratic and diverse organizations.

Submit your proposals today and represent the diversity of the academic and research library community. Complete details on the call for proposals are available on the ALA website. And visit the JCLC 2012 website at www.jclc-conference.org/.
