ACRL, ARL Sponsor Listening Session on OSTP Policy Guidance: Ensuring Free, Immediate, and Equitable Access to Federally Funded Research

ACRL and the Association of Research Libraries (ARL) are sponsoring a virtual listening session about the recent US Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) policy guidance “Ensuring Free, Immediate, and Equitable Access to Federally Funded Research.” The session will be held from 2:00–3:00 p.m. Eastern time on Wednesday, November 16.

In this session the academic/research library community will share statements and top-of-mind issues with members of the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) Subcommittee on Open Science (SOS) about the new public-access memo. The updated policy guidance includes a number of changes from the 2013 OSTP public-access memo “Expanding Public Access to the Results of Federally Funded Research.” ARL has published a side-by-side comparison of the two memos.
