ACRL Discussion Groups at ALA Annual 2009

ACRL discussion groups provide a great way to meet and discuss hot topics with your academic and research library colleagues. The following discussion groups are meeting at the 2009 ALA Annual Conference in Chicago. Discussion group meetings are open to all conference attendees and topics are provided where available. Balancing Baby and Book: Sunday, July 12, 10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Topic: Join us as we share thoughts, ideas, and concerns on balancing a successful professional career and a healthy, rewarding life at home.  All divisions are welcome!

Continuing Education/Professional Development: Saturday, July 11, 1:30-3:00 p.m.
Topic: Implementing Self-Directed Learning (SDL) in Your Library.  We will look at the uses of SDL customize training programs for individual employees. We will discuss how to develop SDL packages, get buy-in from the staff, and evaluate the success of the program.
