Jack Hang-tat Leong is an associate dean, research and open scholarship at York University in Toronto, Canada. Jack has been a member of ACRL for 2 years and is your ACRL Member of the Week for July 5, 2022.

Describe yourself in three words: Friendly, inspiring, empowering.

What are you reading (or listening to on your mobile device)? I have been reading Isaac Asimov’s Foundation and listening to The Universe in a Single Atom through Libby.

Describe ACRL in three words: Extensive professional network.

What do you value about ACRL? Resources and network of professionals for research libraries.

What do you as an academic librarian contribute to your campus? Make resources for teaching, learning and research available to my campus through collection development, open access and open resources development.

In your own words: It has been a very rewarding career in which I can pursue my diverse research and professional interests in information science, education, literary studies, computer science and Chinese Canadian studies.
