CHOICE E-Collection (CeC) Adds Free De-duping Benefit

CHOICE E-Collection

The CHOICE e-Collection (CeC) is the first collection of e-books made up exclusively of titles reviewed by CHOICE. Currently consisting of several hundred titles spanning the entire liberal arts and sciences curriculum, the CeC presents CHOICE-reviewed titles from a growing list of publishers, including the University Press of Mississippi, Wesleyan University Press, M.E. Sharpe, McFarland, and Vanderbilt University Press, among others. The CeC combines quality content with ease of use and now features a free de-duping service that allows a library to determine within 48 hours which CeC titles it already owns.

“Providing academic libraries with tools to help make their decision making easier is our core mission,” says Mark Cummings, Editor and Publisher of CHOICE. “The CeC gives libraries the opportunity to expand or begin building their catalog of quality e-book offerings at a reasonable price with titles reviewed by CHOICE. De- duping makes the process exceptionally quick and painless for busy library professionals.”

The CeC also features a user-friendly interface that allows searching by title, author, ISBN, publisher, or keyword and supports browsing by subject area.

Publishers Row of Skokie, IL, hosts the CeC.  With academic libraries in mind, Publishers Row offers three sales models for acquiring CeC titles: a traditional purchase or ownership model (with perpetual access), and two Patron Driven Acquisition (PDA) models–rent-to-own and rental only.
