Join ACRL from October 19 – November 13, 2026, for the first virtual offering from our popular Information Literacy Immersion Program – “Information Literacy Instruction in Changing Information Environments.” This four‑week online course helps librarians rethink and reimagine information literacy instruction for today’s rapidly evolving information landscape. Discuss and unpack instructional challenges, explore new pedagogical approaches, and experiment with instructional activities and practices that deepen engagement with our communities. Through a mix of critical reflection, design thinking, and collaborative brainstorming, examine new approaches to teaching complex topics including AI literacy, data literacy, misinformation, research ethics, and privacy.
Grounded in the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education and the four pillars of the Immersion curriculum, the course offers practical strategies for refreshing one‑shot sessions, developing new instructional activities, and strengthening pedagogical identity and leadership. You’ll leave with concrete ideas, deeper insight into current information trends, and renewed confidence in designing instruction that meets the moment.
As our inaugural virtual Immersion program, the course offers a new, accessible way to engage with the Immersion community. Complete details and registration materials are available online.
