Mark E. Shelton Appointed ACRL Publications in Librarianship Monograph Series Editor

ACRL announces the appointment of Mark E. Shelton to the post of editor for the ACRL Publications in Librarianship (PIL) monograph series. ACRL’s PIL series is a peer-reviewed collection of books that examine emerging theories and research. The PIL editor works closely with the ACRL Content Strategist and PIL Editorial Board to acquire, develop, and peer review appropriate research-based monographic publications.

Shelton is the Director of Library Services at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. He has twenty-five years of academic library experience and a lengthy history with the literature of academic libraries, including six years as the book review editor for College & Research Libraries.

Shelton succeeds Daniel Mack, Associate Dean of Libraries, Collection Strategies and Services, at the University of Maryland, as PIL editor. He will serve a three-year term beginning July 1, 2021.

Previous PIL and ACRL books can be found in the publications catalog, and information on publishing in the series is available on the ACRL website. Questions on the peer review process or publishing with ACRL can be sent to ACRL Content Strategist Erin Nevius at enevius@ala.org.
