New Look for ACRL National Conference!

ACRL 2011 LogoTo better reflect the nature of the ACRL National Conference, we have created a new brand and redesigned the conference Website. And we’re giving you, our valued members, a sneak peak! Our new look will be officially unveiled for the ACRL 2011 National Conference, March 30 – April 2, in Philadelphia and will continue to build recognition for future ACRL conferences. Our new conference tagline is “Peer Revered.” It represents the respect we have for the knowledge gained from and shared by our peers.

Why Peer Revered?
This unique tagline captures the ACRL National Conference vision and personality. It reflects member opinion about the conference expressed in survey results. “Peer Revered” embodies ACRL’s values and implies the key promise of the conference.

Why This Look?
The new graphic concept of the ACRL National Conference combines an abstract mark and with typography. The stylized logo depicts three open books signifying the connections gained through conference participation. The three primary colors (blue, green and gold) connote knowledge, growth, and value, respectively. The lowercase typography with rounded corners conveys friendliness and approachability.

  1. The logo is fine, but the tagline is completely lame. Not only is it a weak pun, but placed under “ACRL,” it appears to mean that ACRL is revered by its peers. Huh?
