Proficiencies for Assessment in Academic Libraries Draft Review

A joint working group of ACRL’s Value of Academic Libraries Committee and the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee invites your feedback on this Second Draft of the Proficiencies for Assessment in Academic Libraries (PDF). This draft is an update to the current ACRL Proficiencies for Assessment Librarians and Coordinators to ensure social justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion are centered in library assessment work. The working group is following ACRL procedures for updates and open comment period laid out by the ACRL Standards committee, found on the ACRL website.

A sincere thank you goes to the many individuals who provided feedback during the first review period in March 2023. Writing Team members carefully reviewed and thoughtfully considered each suggestion and comment received and made myriad modifications, as reflected in this updated draft.

Please use the feedback form to share your comments and suggestions by Friday, May 5, 2023. The feedback form includes questions relating to the Preamble, 6 proficiencies sections, a self-check section, working group acknowledgements, and a bibliography.
