Join ACRL from 1:00 PM-2:00 PM (Central) on Thursday, February 17 for the Online Learning webcast “Research and Writing: Success with High Impact Practices and Collaboration.”
In this interactive session, attendees will learn about rethinking best practices to align with high-impact practices (HIP) through embedding into your institution’s course offerings. Research shows that students can produce better writing when a librarian AND a writing specialist are embedded into the course. By combining efforts with the instructor and support staff, students benefit from individualized, consistent support with high-impact practices that support retention.
- Participants will play HIP Bingo.
- Participants will respond to discussion questions in small groups.
- Participants will brainstorm about colleagues who would be good collaborators for embedding in their courses.
The presenters are Elizabeth MacDonald, Director of Library Services, Lindenwood University, and Sue Edele, Director of the Writing Center, Lindenwood University.
