ACRL is proud to be a sponsor of the 3rd Annual Resident Librarian Retreat, hosted by the University Libraries at Virginia Tech on October 14–15, 2026, in Blacksburg, Virginia. The free, hybrid retreat brings together current and former residents and fellows, residency coordinators, and institutions interested in developing or strengthening residency programs. While the retreat is centered on residency experiences and program development, MLIS students and early-career library professionals interested in academic librarianship and residency pathways are also welcome to participate.
Participants will have opportunities to connect across institutions while exploring career development, professional networking, funding opportunities, leadership, organizational navigation, and sustainable residency practices. In-person participation is highly encouraged, with virtual options available for select sessions.
