What’s Happening With ACRL

ACRL is a large organization with many discrete parts — committees, sections, interest groups, Board of Directors, staff, and many more – working together to forward the association’s strategic purpose to lead academic and research libraries in advancing learning and scholarship. Each quarter, the ACRL staff provides the Board of Directors with a Strategic Planning Activities Report, or SPAR as it is commonly known.

As the name implies, this report highlights association initiatives within each of our strategic goal areas. The report cumulates for one year, with updates made quarterly. New additions to the SPAR are shown in regular type face and previously reported items shown in italics. The Board finds this report a helpful compilation of the wide variety of initiatives underway and we think it can be a helpful overview for members as well.

Visit ALA Connect to take a look at the SPAR from the 2010 ALA Midwinter Meeting and learn what your association has been up to the past several months. The current SPAR is included in the Executive Director’s Report document. Also, make sure to read the 2008-2009 ACRL Annual Report for an overview of the past year as we move into 2010.
