DOLS Mentorship Program 2021-2022

The DOLS Mentoring and Networking Committee invites you to participate in the launch of our DOLS Mentorship program!

Hello Distance and Online Learning Section members!

Are you new to serving distance and online students and want to expand your professional knowledge/skills? Or are you an experienced librarian willing to share your knowledge to help others develop their skills? The DOLS Mentoring and Networking Committee invites you to participate in the launch of our DOLS Mentorship program!

We’re now accepting participants until July 31, 2021.

After the deadline, participants will be paired (mentor/mentee) and the mentoring program will then run from September 1, 2021 until June 30, 2022.

After the pairing, we recommend mentors get in touch with their mentees early in the program to set goals using the DOLS Goal Sheet that will be provided. At the end of the program in June, participants will be asked to complete a survey to assist our committee in collecting data on what worked well, what can be improved, and assessing the program overall.

Requirements for Participation: All participants in the DOLS Mentoring Program must be current members of ACRL and DOLS, and have an interest in serving distance/online students. Mentors should have experience serving distance/online students in librarianship, through research, through service participation, or all three.

How to Apply: Fill out the appropriate application at the link below before our July 31 deadline!
