II. Government documents

  • General strategy for gov. documents weeding
  • How are EU documents organized, what’s a top priority to keep for a smaller library?
    • GODORT mailing list might be a good place to ask
    • Catalogs that list the documents
  • Another consideration is re-cataloging the electronic version of the print items that get weeded

III. Weeding and space reductions

  • Bibliodiversity considerations are important
  • Should disciplines that don’t use print books as much might have higher weeding quotas?
  • Offsite storage

IV. Internet Archive’s Open Library Program

  • Controlled digital lending
    • People used it as a last resort during lockdown for access to materials
    • Can’t download the books, must be used on computer
    • University of Chicago is doing something with reserves that might resemble controlled digital lending
    • University of Florida is doing it in a limited capacity: https://accesssupport.uflib.ufl.edu/course-reserves/instructors/
