Mary M Somerville

Mary M. Somerville serves as University Librarian and Professor at the University of Colorado Denver and Library Director at the Auraria Library in Denver, Colorado. Her leadership approach uses participatory design to create workplace learning systems and professional information practices that support information sharing and knowledge creation for informed action.

In 2010, she received a Distinguished Scholar Award from the San José State University School of Library and Information Science. She is the author of two books: Working together – Collaborative Information Practices for Organizational Learning, Association of College & Research Libraries, 2009, and Informed Systems: Organizational Design for Learning in Action, Chandos Publishing, 2015.
