RIG’s panel proposal “Library Residency Roadmap” was picked up for programming at ALA Annual in New Orleans this summer! We are looking for 3-5 panelists to discuss their experiences about what makes a residency program successful.
RIG is hoping to fill the panel with current residents, librarians who participated in residency programs, and residency coordinators in order to provide a diverse collection of experiences and opinions.
The intention of the panel is to demystify the role for those that are interested in creating one at their institution. Focusing on:
- different types of residencies
- potential funding sources for residents
- the search and interview process for residents
- setting expectations, goals, and outcomes
No funding is available for panelists, but this is a fantastic opportunity for service, networking, and boosting your CV.
