COVID-19 RIG Town Hall Meeting – April 2nd

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, ACRL-RIG would like to invite current and former BIPOC residents as well as BIPOC from other term/contract positions to a virtual town hall. The purpose of the discussion will be to collaboratively discuss how to provide support for BIPOC residents, fellows, and other folks in term and precarious positions.

Considerations for this meeting include:

  • building a space for this group to connect and share concerns;
  • identifying major short term and long term needs;
  • crowdsourcing ways to mobilize and advocate for institutional support;
  • and more.

We intend for this to be a safe space for our community where we can come together and provide mutual support during this period of physical distancing.

While the focus of this town hall will be primarily on the effects of COVID-19 on residents of color, we welcome BIPOC from other term/contract positions to attend and share their insights. Note that this discussion is not intended for administrators, supervisors, coordinators, and mentors. An additional event intended for these groups, and for those who oversee residency, fellowships, and other term-limited programs generally, will follow in the coming weeks.

Due to recent reports of virtual event crashing, we ask for participants to pre-register. Event details are below:
