The Indiana University Kokomo Library invites applications for a tenure-track, 10-month, Information Literacy Librarian position at the assistant librarian rank. The Information Literacy Librarian will take a leadership role in the continued development and coordination of the library instruction program and will provide reference service to students, faculty, staff, and the IU Kokomo service area. This work will include teaching information literacy both on and off campus and via distance education, and promoting the library instruction program to Indiana University Kokomo faculty and public school teachers within the region. Will oversee the development and maintenance of instructional and informational materials in all formats (library guides, tutorials, videos, Web page Faculty Portal, LibGuides, quizzes, handouts, etc.) and programs. Develop and implement a program of assessment for the library instruction program. Perform administrative tasks related to the library instruction program such as scheduling instructional activities, assigning librarians to teach classes, and maintaining statistics. Collaborate with faculty on assignments for information literacy instruction. Contribute to the development of the collections. Edit the library newsletter. The position will include some evening and weekend hours.

Applicants for this position must have an ALA-accredited Master’s degree in Library or Information Science or equivalent. The candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to work independently as well as a team member. Will have an understanding of information literacy principles, reference services, and formal assessment of library instruction. Knowledge of or experience with tools which support online learning such as course management systems, screen recording and video editing software, etc. Preferred qualifications include teaching, information literacy instruction, reference experience, or learning theory coursework.
