UVM's "Ask" Photo Campaign

The subject of this post is somewhat outside the purview of our Group, but it’s still regards libraries and it’s fascinating. Besides, sometimes we just need a little fun.

The University of Vermont Libraries launched a campaign promoting their chat service. They took photos of students holding a simple black on white sign that read “ASK”. Advertisements were made from the photoshoots as were bookmarks resembling old photo booth strips, and postcards. Plans are in the works to incorporate the photos into reference desk signage, campus flyers, and the student newspaper.

The April 2008 issue of C&RL News has an article in it describing the entire project. A 15-minute podcast is also available from ACRLinsider; and (this was the really fun part), the photo shoot results are available on Flickr.
