Leslie Morgan earned her MLS from Wayne State University and was the 2005-2007 Librarian in Residence at the University of Notre Dame.
Currently, Leslie is the First Year Experience librarian for the Hesburgh Libraries at the University of Notre Dame.
In her own words:
Beginning my career as a Resident Librarian was the perfect venue to hone my expertise level of which I give much credit of where I am now professionally.
Since July 1, 2007, I continue to serve the University of Notre Dame Hesburgh Libraries as the First Year Experience Librarian.
I work collaboratively with the First Year of Studies College in providing Instructional Services, Research Consultations with First Year Students and First Year Faculty. The First Year Studies College has provided me with a “Mobile Library” workspace (a former Learning Strategies Classroom space) that I share with Student Peer Advisors (Graduating Senior Students) who Mentor our newest students on our illustrious campus.
My overarching responsibilities is in collaboration with my Librarian Colleagues within the Information, Research & Instructional Services Department (IRIS) at the Hesburgh Libraries. My primary duties with this department is providing Reference Services from a Generalist perspective and working in collaboration with the Instructional Services Coordinator as it relates to Information Literacy Instruction within the University’s Composition & University Seminar courses.
Leslie serves as a perfect example of the librarians of the future and all the possibilities that come along with such an innovative position at Notre Dame. Congrats to her!
