Bohyun Kim, founding editor (2012-2015) / current member

Bohyun Kim is Chief Technology Officer and Associate Professor at the University of Rhode Island Libraries. She is the author of two books, The Library Mobile Experience: Practices and User Expectations (ALA TechSource, 2013), and Understanding Gamification (ALA TechSource, 2015).  She has published many articles and given numerous invited/peer-reviewed presentations on a variety of topics related to library technologies and their impact on libraries. Margaret Heller, founding member

Margaret Heller works as the Digital Services Librarian at Loyola University Chicago. She also is the volunteer Assistant Director and web development team leader at the Read/Write Library Chicago ( Her work focuses on institutional repositories, open access, and user experience. Eric Phetteplace, current editor

Eric Phetteplace is the Systems Librarian at California College of Arts, Oakland, CA. His interests in librarianship include web design, open access, information literacy instruction, and data-driven decision-making (which is alliterative for “assessment”). He’s passionate about community colleges and enjoys being a jack-of-all-trades technologist. Lauren Magnuson, current member

Lauren Magnuson is Systems and Emerging Technologies Librarian at California State University, Northridge.  Her interests include PHP, Python, analytics, and data visualization, as well as promoting open source technology in academic libraries.  Lauren has an MA in Information Science and an M.Ed in Educational Technology, both from the University of Missouri, as well as a BA in Philosophy from Tulane University.  She tweets selectively from @lpmagnuson.

Yasmeen Shorish, current member

Yasmeen Shorish works at James Madison University in Virginia as a science librarian and data management consultant. Her interests include scholarly communication, the evolution of library services to support learning and research, and increasing access to information. Ashley Blewercurrent member

Ashley Blewer is an audiovisual archivist, technologist, and enthusiast. She works as an independent web developer and digital archives consultant. She has previously worked at the New York Public Library, in the private sector as an integrations engineer, and at the University of South Carolina Moving Image Research Collections as a cataloging manager. She holds Master of Library and Information Science (Archives) and Bachelor of Arts (Graphic Design) degrees from the University of South Carolina and is a graduate of the Flatiron School’s Web Immersive program. She is an active contributor to MediaArea’s MediaConch, a open source digital video file conformance checker software project, and Bay Area Video Coalition’s QCTools, an open source digitized video analysis software project.
