Join us on Tuesday, April 25 at 1:00pm Central for the webinar “Project Outcome Part 2: Evaluating Library Instruction at 2-Year and 4-Year Institutions: Findings and Data Analysis.” Librarians from Seminole State College of Florida and University of Central Florida will share their experience using Project Outcome for analysis of a cross-institutional research project. We’ll discuss our process, methodology, and the findings from this research. Using our experience as a case study, we hope to generate ideas for others interested in exploring Project Outcome for other research projects. This may include identifying opportunities, planning and implementation considerations, and analyzing results.

ACRL Live Webcast: Strategies for Teaching Adult Learners

Thursday, May 11, 2023 from 1:00-2:00pm Central

Adults are attending college in record numbers every year. These students, many with families and careers, may have been away from an academic environment for many years and have unique needs in developing lifelong learning skills. This webinar will provide a broad overview of some of the theories that support active learning in adults, especially in an online environment, for academic teaching librarians. The webinar will review an example of determining a learning activity through collaboration with disciplinary faculty, creating learning outcomes, modeling the activity, students practicing the activity, and assessing through reflection and group discussion. Webinar participants will have the opportunity to briefly share what has, and has not, worked for them.

Open Educational Resources and Affordability (Off-RoadShow Virtual Workshop)

ACRL’s virtual Open Educational Resources (OER) and Affordability RoadShow will help you understand the basics of OER and how libraries can be involved in affordability initiatives at your institution. This introductory virtual workshop is intended for academic librarians and library staff interested in learning about OER and/or developing OER initiatives. The online workshop begins with foundational knowledge about OER: What are OER? How do they impact faculty and students? We also discuss examples of and opportunities for library involvement in affordability initiatives, analyze stakeholders and institutional context, and determine appropriate strategies and goals for real-world application.
