Call for Presenters: Show & Tell of Unique Arts Resources

The Arts Membership and Outreach Committee invites colleagues from across the arts including Theatre, Visual Arts, Dance, Music, Art History, Museum Studies, and other related disciplines-to participate in an online Show & Tell celebrating the unique, surprising, and hard-to-find books and materials that enrich our arts library collections.

  • Date: Thursday, November 5, 2026
  • Time: 1:00 p.m. EST

Come hang out with us for an hour to discover, share, and celebrate the arts resources in our library collections! This event celebrates the remarkable collections that support arts teaching, research, and creative practice. We invite arts librarians and other professionals who work closely with art materials to share a favorite item from their collection, such as:

  • A rare, unusual, or visually striking resource (e.g., a facsimile, artist’s book, or performance score)
  • A resource that students consistently enjoy or find inspiring
  • A title that reveals something unexpected about your discipline
  • A book or resource that sparks conversation, creativity, or curiosity

Each presenter will have 5–7 minutes to introduce their selected item, explain what makes it special, and reflect on how it supports learning, research, or artistic inquiry.

Whether your selection is a facsimile, an artist’s book, a performance score, a design manual, a historical text, or something delightfully uncategorizable, we’d love to feature it.

If you are an arts, visual arts, or performing arts librarian, or another professional who works closely with art materials and would like to present, please complete the submission form by Wednesday, October 15, 2026.

Questions? Please contact Alessandra Otero at aotero@geneseo.edu or reply to this message here.

We look forward to learning about your favorite resources and celebrating the extraordinary collections that support the arts.

All the best,

Arts Membership and Outreach Committee
